Sarah Berens Awarded Doctorate

University of Cologne in June 2013. Her dissertation "When the High-Income Country Context Dissolves: Social Policy Preferences in Low- and Middle-Income Democracies" examines how structural uncertainty, dysfunctional systems of law and government finance, inequality, and mass employment within the informal economy can influence social policy preferences. Sarah Berens was a doctoral student at the IMPRS-SPCE from 2010-2013. Since December 2013 she has been a researcher in the University of Cologne's Center for Comparative Politics.
