Annette Hübschle-Finch Awarded Doctorate

Annette Hübschle-Finch was awarded her doctorate at the University of Cologne in January 2016. In her dissertation A Game of Horns: Transnational Flows of Rhino Horn she examined the influence and effects of illegality and transnationality on the emergence, functioning and structure of the illegal market for rhinoceros horn. Her aim was to gain an understanding of the market in its entirety from the production of rhinoceros horn (poaching, hunting, and theft) through to its cross-border exchange and consumption. Annette Hübschle-Finch was a doctoral student from 2011 to 2015 at the International Max Planck Research School on the Social and Political Constitution of the Economy (IMPRS-SPCE) in Cologne and now works as a researcher at the Institute for Humanities at the University of Cape Town and as a senior research advisor for the Global Initiative against Transnational Organized Crime.
