The University of Duisburg-Essen to Become a Cooperation Partner for the PhD Program

The University of Duisburg-Essen will join the International Max Planck Research School on the Social and Political Constitution of the Economy (IMPRS-SPCE) in Cologne as a new cooperation partner. The IMPRS-SPCE is a joint international PhD program of the MPIfG and the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Cologne. Starting in 2017, the program will be expanded through the addition of a third partner. In the context of the new cooperation, Sigrid Quack and Karen Shire, both professors at the Institute of Sociology at the University of Duisburg-Essen, will join the Faculty of the IMPRS-SPCE. The cooperation with the University of Duisburg-Essen will start at the beginning of 2017 with an initial association phase and will progress step by step to a full partnership in October 2019.
